Welcome to the Smith College student employment web site!

Students PLEASE NOTE: All jobs posted on JobX for the 2008-2009 academic year are available for application ONLY by upperclass students with work-study in their 08-09 financial aid package. Non-aid students will not be permitted to apply until after October 1.

Before searching this site for a job, all students wishing to work must read the Student Employment Guide to obtain information about employment and familiarize themselves with Smith College's policies, etc.

Employers

Employers may post available positions for 08-09 now. Please be careful not to hire incoming first year students and ask applicants their class year during the application process. First years work either in their houses or doing America Reads tutoring and are *not* eligible for other campus jobs. Please take the time to read the Student Employment Guide available as a link from the Information for Employers page.
It's very important to read the Information for Employers link for updated information.

WAGE RATES: Student payrates are set by the Controller and determined by job classification as set by Payroll in BannerWeb. Click on Payroll Information on the left for the wage rates and the criteria set for any rate higher than the base.

NOTE: All hours worked during term-time count against student Work-Study limits, regardless of funding. Only ON-CAMPUS Interterm hours are exempt. Off-Campus Work-Study earnings count all year, including Interterm.
